History

System Sensor was founded in 1984[2] by the Pittway Corporation to address the unique product requirements of the fire alarm industry. In 1997, System Sensor introduced its SpectrAlert series of notification appliances. In 2007 System Sensor discontinued the SpectrAlert product line in favor of the SpectrAlert Advance Product Line. [3] System Sensor was purchased by Honeywell in the early 2000's, and currently manufactures notification appliances, smoke detectors, waterflow switches, and HVAC monitoring systems.
